In 1987 The Gun Club staged a comeback with Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Romi Mori, Nick Sanderson and Kid Congo Powers. Several releases followed, and in 1995 a new line-up was formed including Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Wayne Kramer, Mike Martt, Kid Congo Powers and Romi Mori. On the 31st of March 1996 the band sadly came to an end due the death of Jeffrey Lee Pierce.

The band was founded in 1980 by "Slash" fanzine writer Jeffrey Lee Pierce, who decided that it would be a good way to get free drinks bought him by press around the LA punk scene. Not even he could have guessed that the ploy would spawn one of the most underrated, influential and insane bands of the eighties. This film contains nearly two hours of rare footage of the Gun Club playing at the Hacienda in Manchester England in 1983 and again a year later, with two very different line-ups and two very different sets. Uncompromising, wild and heartfelt, the shows include many of The Gun Club's best-loved tracks.

The Gun Club were an American post-punk/ blues band from Los Angeles, California, United States, that existed from 1979 to 1996. Created and led by singer guitarist and songwriter Jeffrey Lee Pierce, they merged the contemporary genre of punk rock with the more traditional genres of rockabilly and country music along with X, the Flesh Eaters and the Blasters. The Gun Club was formed by Jeffrey Lee Pierce, former head of the Blondie fan club in Los Angeles. Joining him was Brian Tristan, who was later renamed Kid Congo Powers during his stint with The Cramps, Don Snowden, who was at the time a music critic for the Los Angeles Times, and Brad Dunning.
