Sir John Eliot Gardiner is revered as one of the world’s most innovative and dynamic musicians, constantly in the vanguard of enlightened interpretation and standing as a leader in contemporary musical life. His work, as founder and artistic director of the Monteverdi Choir (MC), English Baroque Soloists (EBS) and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique (ORR), has marked him out as a key figure both in the early music revival and as a pioneer of historically informed performances.

FALSTAFF is a Crossover Prog, Progressive Rock artist from France. Falstaff biography A French short-lived rock quartet FALSTAFF founded by Jrme HALBOUT (drums, percussion), Stphane JOLY (keyboards), Laurent LABOURET (guitars), and Eric MALLET (bass) have been released only one album "Prononcez G" featuring Zeuhl-titled songs (that might be one of reasons they are called as a Zeuhl combo here.

Sir John Eliot Gardiner, CBE HonFBA (born 20 April 1943) is an English conductor, particularly known for his performances of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and of other baroque music. Born in Fontmell Magna, Dorset, Gardiner's early musical experience came largely through singing with his family and in a local church choir

Born in Milan, Daniele Gatti studied piano and graduated in composition and conducting at the city's Verdi Conservatory. He was chief conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from 2016 to 2018. Between 2008 and 2016, he was the music director of the Orchestre National de France.

Giuseppe Verdi Composer. John Eliot Gardiner Conductor. Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique. Jean-Philippe Lafont (bar) Falstaff. Anthony Michaels-Moore (bar) Ford. Hillevi Martinpelto (sop) Alice Ford. Lafont is a jovial, forthright Falstaff with an ideal weight in his warm bass-baritone, lacking some strength only at the top. But he is in competition with the superb Valdengo for Toscanini, Gobbi’s more vocally varied Fat Knight for Karajan, the ruminative Bruson for Giulini and – in some ways the best of all – the flexible, subtle Taddei for Rossi.
